Building customer loyalty: why oil changes are important

Building customer loyalty in any business is challenging. Getting customers back to the car repair shop is the most difficult task for car owners. If a store can crack this code, they will seize current and future repair and maintenance opportunities. The only inherent opportunity for each vehicle to increase customer loyalty is engine oil and functional fluid services.

In this one-hour webinar, our experts will discuss how they can establish oil change and vehicle maintenance plans to maintain customer return rates and help maintain healthy profit margins.

Adaptive shift control can provide sensitive and powerful acceleration.

Compared with previous CVT transmissions used in similar vehicles, Nissan’s XTRONIC CVT transmission can significantly improve fuel economy by up to 10% or more. Adaptive shift control (adjust the shift pattern to match each driver's style and road) provides responsive and powerful acceleration. The control system prevents the engine from rotating too fast at high speeds and minimizes noise.

If the XTRONIC CVT has been repaired or the valve body and other parts have been replaced, it is necessary to perform the clutch point relearning program. If this program is not available on the scanning tool, please perform this manual procedure. Clear all stored fault codes before starting this procedure.

1. Start the engine and allow the transmission to heat up to 122ºF (50ºC). Use the scanning tool to verify the transmission temperature.

3. Move the shift selector to the parking position, turn off the ignition switch, and wait for 5 seconds.

4. Start the engine and let it run at idle speed for 5 seconds.

5. Turn off the ignition switch and wait for 30 seconds.

6. Perform steps 4 and 5 two more times, for a total of three cycles.

8. Let the engine idle for 30 seconds.

9. Move the shift selector to the "D" position.

10. Accelerate the vehicle from 0 mph (0 km/h) to 40 mph (65 km/h) at low throttle. Approximately 1/8 throttle.

11. Slow down the vehicle to 18 mph (30 km/h) or less without using the brakes.

12. Stop and move the gear selector to the parking position.

13. Turn off the ignition switch and wait 5 seconds.

15. Perform steps 13 and 14 four times for a total of five cycles.

16. Move the shift selector to the "D" position.

17. Accelerate the vehicle from 0 mph (0 km/h) to 28 mph (45 km/h) at low throttle. Approximately 1/8 throttle.

18. Stop and move the gear selector to the parking position.

19. Turn off the ignition switch and wait 5 seconds.

21. Perform steps 19 and 20 four times for a total of five cycles.

22. Drive the vehicle to ensure the smooth operation of the CVT transmission.

Note: Failure to successfully perform this re-learning procedure will result in an extremely demanding transformation.
