“As my mum says, I was conceived in a Citroën DS, and I was born in the industry: my grandfather and my father were aluminum foundries”. One could hardly do better as a predestination, for those who are delighted to have “realized a childhood dream”: renovating old cars, with an assumed obsession for the Citroën SM. Jean-Michel Gallet exhibits some of them at the Bournel estate, distilling passing golfers the secrets of this coupe produced between 1970 and 1975, powered by a gleaming Maserati engine.

“At the time, cars hardly pushed at 170 km/h. With the SM, we went to more than 200. We called it the Concorde of the road, ”he says, lifting the hood of one of them. “We also speak of car-lasagna, because the parts around the engine are mounted in layers. If there is a problem, everything must be dismantled…”. What does not put him off: since 1989, in his company SM2A, nearly a thousand SMs have passed through his hands, or those of his brother and his son, who are also passionate.

For the exhibition, the Burgundian has joined forces with the Besançon antique car sellers A & M Classics. Featured: Citroën SMs, therefore, but also Maserattis (such as a 1977 Khamsin, only 435 units produced) and a Porsche 911 Weissach. Rarities offered to the eyes of the participants of the Grande Semaine de Golf, a competition organized on the estate.
