After a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the annual dog show and contest returned to the Innisfil Farmers' Market on Thursday afternoon.

Owners lined up to register their pups for a chance to win a shiny medal in one of the five categories: Furriest/Hairiest, Best Trick, Most Unique Bark, Best Dressed, and Looks Most Like My Human. 

Judges for the contest were Taya from the YMCA, Sophia from Venus Cookies, and market manager Jaime Grant. 

Best Dressed was won by Marshall, a pug dressed in a cowboy hat. Runner-up was Beatrix, a miniature schnauzer in a pink top.

Best Trick was won by Dude, a border collie who could walk backwards. Runner-up was Raina, a miniature schnauzer who was told to find an apple in a mix of various fruits.

Zeke, a Catahoula leopard, won for Most Unique Bark.

The Furriest dog prize was won by Ziggy, a great Pyrenees border collie, and the Looks Most Like My Human medal went to Piper, a long-haired miniature dachshund.

Special thanks were given to Iggy, a golden retriever, Velle, a red-brown Australian shepherd poodle mix who also competed. 

Venus Cookies sponsored the day's event and supplied dog cookie treats for all the canine participants.

Entertainment was provided by Patty McLaughlin, who sang and played guitar for the crowd. 

The Innisfil Farmers' Market is held every Thursday from 1 to 6 p.m. until Oct. 27. at the Stroud Arena, 7883 Yonge St.
