DJSI is a series of leading benchmarks on sustainable business practices that measure the performance of the world's leading companies in terms of economic, environmental and social impact.

Hankook Tire has been named a world-class sustainability leader by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for the sixth consecutive year.

DJSI is a series of leading benchmarks on sustainable business practices that measure the performance of the world's leading companies in terms of economic, environmental and social impact. The Dow Jones Indices was jointly created with RobecoSAM, a Zurich-based investment expert who conducts detailed sustainability research on thousands of leading global market capitalization companies.

This year’s DJSI World list has 332 companies, accounting for 12.7% of the world’s top 2544 companies. Hankook Tire has been listed as a representative of the auto parts industry.

This recognition demonstrates Hankook Tire’s continued focus on environmental, social and governance (ESG) management and its pioneering role in leading the industry to a healthy and sustainable future. Especially in terms of social contribution and supply chain management, the company has been recognized.

Hankook Tire has been working hard to improve its company-wide sustainability practices by sharing its vision with all executives and employees in eight different professional fields. In 2018, Hankook further accelerated its ESG management by implementing the sustainable natural rubber policy and the E-Circle statement. In 2021, the company not only established an ESG committee within the board of directors, but also updated its sustainable rubber policy in accordance with the Global Sustainable Natural Rubber Platform (GPSNR) policy framework.

In addition, Hankook Tire carries out various activities through cooperation with various stakeholders based on the goals set by the company, and has a positive impact on society. For example, Hankook Tire has been actively making meaningful donations related to mobility topics. One of the plans is the car-sharing plan launched in 2008 to support social welfare agencies facing traffic difficulties. By 2021, the number of vehicles provided during the 14-year period of the program's operation is approximately 630. The company has also launched a tire sharing project. Since 2010, it has donated 27,054 tires to the Social Welfare Center for its commercial vehicle equipment.

Hankook received DJSI recognition for the first time in 2011 and has entered the DJSI World list since 2016.

Looking ahead, Hankook Tire plans to use its expertise in the field of sustainability management as one of its core values to ensure growth and leadership. Hankook stated that it will continue to promote social contributions and implement environmental management practices, supported by healthy business performance.
