Detroit-Subaru is recalling nearly 875,000 cars and SUVs in the United States because the engine may stall or the rear suspension components may fall off.
The paused recall covers more than 466,000 Crosstrek SUVs in 2018 and 2019 and Impreza vehicles from 2017 to 2019. The company stated in a government document that after the car is shut down, the computer can power the ignition coil. This may cause a short circuit.
The dealer will update the software, replace the ignition coil and install a new front exhaust pipe if necessary. The recall will begin on May 28.
The suspension of the recall affects more than 408,000 Crosstreks in 2018 and 2019 and Foresters in 2019. Some rear stabilizer bolts may loosen and fall off, increasing the risk of collision.
Starting on May 14, the dealer will tighten the bolts and replace any missing bolts.
