Building customer loyalty: why oil changes are important

Building customer loyalty in any business is challenging. Getting customers back to the car repair shop is the most difficult task for car owners. If a store can crack this code, they will seize current and future repair and maintenance opportunities. The only inherent opportunity for each vehicle to increase customer loyalty is engine oil and functional fluid services.

In this one-hour webinar, our experts will discuss how they can establish oil change and vehicle maintenance plans to maintain customer return rates and help maintain healthy profit margins.

Since 1931, we have documented the sacrifices and successes made by veterans for our country and the car care industry.

Veterans have always played a vital role at all levels of the car care industry. Their contributions on the battlefield and the Gulf helped build the industry as we know it today.

In the ranks of soldiers, sailors and pilots, there are several car care professionals who have won honorable metals. To get honor metal, you must have courage and character.

Think of Robert Maxwell, Medal of Honor recipient. On September 7, 1944, Maxwell and three other soldiers carried only pistols to defend their battalion observation post against an overwhelming enemy attack. Technician 5th grade Maxwell repelled the German and threw himself on the grenade without hesitation. Maxwell saved the lives of his comrades in the battle and repaired important communication lines.

After Maxwell left his job, he studied at a vocational school for two years and became a car mechanic. After working as an Oldsmobile dealer, he became a lecturer at Bend High School in Oregon in the 1960s. He later taught at Lane Community College for more than 20 years.

Hiroshi "Hersey" Miyamura was drafted into the army at the end of World War II. He served in the 100th Battalion composed of Japanese Americans. After the war, he returned to Gallup, New Mexico, and worked as a mechanic in his cousin's shop.

During the Korean War, Corporal Miyamura resisted two waves of attackers close to the 38-degree line. He killed 50 enemy soldiers and received his Medal of Honor. He was captured and served in a North Korean prisoner of war camp for more than two years.

After being discharged from the hospital, he resumed his job as a mechanic and eventually became a gas station owner in Gallup. Miyamura was the source of inspiration for his hometown, and now his hometown claims that they are the most patriotic city in the United States. The local high school is named after him, and there is a highway overpass.

Many other veterans who received the Purple Heart, Silver Star, and Bronze Star medals returned from conflicts in Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan to become car technicians and shopkeepers. These men and women have become the backbone of their communities and have established families and businesses.

Since 1931, shopkeepers, brakes and front ends, imported cars, and Underhood Service have documented the sacrifices and successes made by veterans for our country and the car care industry.
