Just yesterday, we talked about Randy from Auto Auction Rebuilds who bought a $900 worth of BMW Z3 roadster with Dinan upgrade hidden in it, and now he is back with another Bimmer who has his own secret. This second-generation X5 can also run and drive, but it was originally listed on Copart, but the key was lost, so it couldn't run. However, it turns out that this is untrue because it is hidden in a conspicuous place, especially in the storage area to the left of the cigarette lighter at the bottom of the center console.

Unlike the small sports cars I bought before, Randy has been paying attention to the 2008 X5 for some time, and it is finally available. Equipped with a 3.0-liter engine, the overall appearance of the E70 is beautiful, except for the dents on the tailgate. Check out the thumbnail of the video or skip to the end of the video to see how the car looks much better after Walmart repaired the foggy headlights and thoroughly washed the body.

This car cost him $1,700 or $2,375 after tax and other aspects. It makes it one of the cheapest functional X5 of its generation, even though it has a clock of nearly 190,000 miles (about 305,000 kilometers). Nevertheless, as long as you know that maintenance costs will cost you a penny, it is worth the money.

After picking up the car, Randy did notice that the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) light was on, but after Wal-Mart inflated the tires, it disappeared. That is to say, because the SUV needs new brake pads, the brake lights are also on, and the check engine lights are constantly on and off. As for the camera icon that appears in the dashboard, it is probably because the rear view camera is not working. Also at the back, the electric tailgate had to be opened and closed in the old fashioned way, presumably because the pillar was broken.

It seems that the engine and gearbox are running smoothly, but the new valve cover gasket is to remove smoke. These are small problems that must be solved, but the costs add up, and the final bill may be similar to what he originally paid. The devaluation of luxury cars is both a blessing and a disaster. Although asking prices have become more accessible, keeping the car in good condition on the road is a completely different story, and the X5 E70 is no exception.

Although maintenance costs are worrisome, it is easy to understand why someone would want to buy such a vehicle. This is especially true considering that this X5 has a lovely leather and cream interior with skylights and wood trim. We believe that the interior does not show its age or mileage.

In the end, the 2008 BMW X5 will soon return to auction.
